What is the Daisy Education Reading Project?

The Daisy Education Reading Project is an ongoing programme of activity designed to support schools throughout 2026 - focusing on strong reading practice, supporting pupils to grow in confidence as readers and helping schools make reading part of life beyond the classroom.

It brings together evidence, classroom experience and teacher insight to help schools strengthen their approach to reading in a way that feels practical, realistic and sustainable.

Whether you are reviewing your reading strategy, looking for ways to engage pupils more fully, or supporting staff development, the project offers opportunities to get involved throughout the year.

What schools can expect in 2026

Throughout the year, we will work alongside schools to bring reading to life. There will be opportunities for pupils, teachers and school leaders to get involved through:

  • Engaging reading activities and challenges for pupils - both in school and at home.
  • Competitions designed to celebrate reading and encourage participation.
  • Free resources to support reading practice and reflection.
  • Free, high-quality CPD for staff to support teaching.

All activity is designed to support schools without adding unnecessary workload.
