For Primary Schools
Are you a primary school looking to:
- Improve low fluency to close attainment gaps?
- Cover the vast maths curriculum?
- Increase confidence and competence in maths assessments?
- Build retrieval, reasoning and problem-solving skills?
DreamBox Maths can help!

Our online programme improving maths skills in primary:
Improves conceptual understanding: DreamBox Maths ensures students grasp the ‘why’ behind mathematical ideas, focusing on mastery of concepts rather than rote memorisation.
Enhances critical thinking: DreamBox Maths encourages problem-solving, persistence and the development of resilience in learners.
Supports fluency, retrieval and reasoning: DreamBox Maths fosters fluency through consistent practice, supports retrieval of learned concepts and encourages logical reasoning to strengthen students’ overall mathematical ability.
Engages pupils with interactive lessons: The programme combines gamified elements and real-world problem-solving to keep students engaged and motivated, fostering a deeper connection with maths.
Support for diverse learners: Whether students are struggling with basic concepts or excelling in advanced topics, DreamBox Maths adapts to meet the needs of learners at all levels, ensuring no student is left behind.
Provides real-time data and progress tracking: Teachers receive comprehensive, actionable insights into student progress, empowering them to differentiate instruction and track key milestones.
“Pupils are extremely engaged within DreamBox Maths. They can access the programme independently, and we like the way that this adapts to pupils' abilities without compromising the age-appropriate content. Children enjoy completing lessons, and even our SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) learners are engaged within the programme.”
How DreamBox Maths will work for your students
Learning the learner
DreamBox Maths offers over 2,300 lessons with millions of paths through the curriculum. It adjusts in real time to engage students in their optimal learning zone.
As students progress, mistakes are OK. Wrong answers help the programme find the best lessons that will reinforce concepts and build on their strengths.
When pupils first start the programme, it takes around four to six weeks to accurately find their optimal learning zone.

Exploring and sense-making
Students will progress through three different stages of rigour within the programme. When a student starts a new concept, they're going to start with our exploring and sense-making lessons designed to show us what they know.
When presented with a problem, pupils aren’t told how to solve it - we want to see what they know first in order to help support them.

Looking for structures and relationships
Once pupils build the foundational understanding, they advance into looking for structures and relationships lessons.
Here, the programme focuses on the strategies pupils are using and provides support to make that process more efficient.

Fluency, application and procedural skills
Once pupils develop that deep understanding and have efficient strategies to pull from, the programme moves them to our fluency, application and procedural skills lessons.
Moving through these stages helps develop fluent learners while ensuring they have the foundational knowledge they can use to build upon concepts.
To move through all three stages of rigour can take a couple of lessons or five or six - it is dependent on where each pupil is at.
Even if two pupils are working on the same concept, they won’t have the same lessons or experience because their journey is constructed for them in real time.
