Dominic's Reading Plus Champion tasks
We are thrilled to share what Dominic achieves as a Reading Plus Champion this academic year!
Within his role, Dominic has the opportunity to complete a series of exciting reading activities throughout the year, including:
- Writing a blog exploring love for reading and how Reading Plus has made an impact.
- Expanding their reading further and reviewing books outside of Reading Plus.
- Creating a vlog detailing all their favourite things about reading.
Publishing their very own piece of creative writing on our website.
Opportunities may also arise to collaborate with us on interviews with children’s/YA authors.
My reading journey blog
This is about my reading journey and about enjoying books and this is my blog.
On Reading Plus, I chose 'Wild Aeroplane Inventions' as my first book, which had good information. I read books because they are interesting and some have good characters and storylines. Some of the books have good information.
My favourite author is Dav Pilkey, the series of Dog Man and Cat Kid. Sometimes I read the whole book because I need to find out what happens to the characters.
Out of all the books I have read, Horrid Henry is my favourite. There is multiple books in the series. I like it when he is at school playing up.
Reading Plus is good, I like the challenges it offers and the variety of books. Here are some of the books I have read on Reading Plus:
- Rise of the Robots
- Go bananas!
- Switzerland's Most Famous Snowman
- Pizza!
- The Cracked Window
- A Blue Planet
As you can see, I have listed 6 books, but I have read many more and I like to choose a variety.
Here are some of the new words I have learned: Hermit, Intently, Executed, Physician, Proclaimed, Significance, Morality, Articulate.
The vocabulary on Reading Plus is interesting because you learn a lot of different words.
My reading skills are much better, I am now able to read much harder books. I learn new words all the time. Reading is enjoyable. You should choose books that interest you and there are lots of interesting information in them.
